Lord Charles Williams of Rivenspire has long been the subject of rumors. He has survived accusations of necromancy and murder for over a decade, but this time was different. With public outcry growing the Shornhelm guard was authorized to search the Lords estate. When they arrived they found it in flames. The Lord reported an angry mob was responsible and once again turned the narrative on those who were after his reputation.

Marquess Rhea Rousseau at-Rabiah and Marquis Sythrin Rousseau were blessed with a baby boy on the 14th of Evening Star. Born healthy, Calem Rousseau was welcomed by not only his mother and father, but the family that he will be raised amongst in House Rousseau at-Rabiah and the people of Ra Kotu.

Rumors, said to have been come from a rambling drunkard who called himself 'Cedric' at a local tavern, say that the Marquess was under duress during the birth due to an unknown threat. If such is true, it would seem that through brave efforts of friend and family, the Marquess and newborn heir arrived safely home. Some wonder if the House may offer coin or prize for those who can offer information or assistance related to the menace.

Despite the predicament, the Marquess and Marquis are overjoyed, spending time with their newborn Calem and looking forward to introducing him to the people. It is rumored that they may publicly present Calem during the Ra Gada Olympiad.

The harsh land of the Ravenwood. A region of dense forest lined on steep crags and harsh canyons. It is known for its hostile wildlife and dark beauty. It also happens to be a favorite place for criminals to hide as the Williams family has a history of not hiring guards to patrol any of the Ravenwood except the main estate. Under the leadership of Baron Charles Williams, whose mother the Baroness passed last year, he has fired all House guards. Such an action only contributed to the rumors he is a murderer, necromancer, cult lord, and other accusations one can dream up. That same decision also led to the mob that assaulted his Estate to actually burn it to the ground. Contrary to the belief of the people of Rivenspire no undead army was raised to halt their faux holy crusade.

Now in the aftermath of the events Lord Williams, who uses his title as Baron only when formalities force such, appears to have hired mercenaries. These mercenaries have kill on sight orders for all trespassers. Several of the folks who have pushed the vile rumors over the years have been reported missing by their friends, though Lord Williams claims the mercenaries have reported no deaths or arrests. They have however beaten the living daylights out of a few towns folk caught attempting to enter the wood, but they cut them loose with just a warning.

Scandal whispers is way through the courts of Highrock, creeping up from obscure corners of Rivenspire, in the County of Blightwatch.

The eccentric Count Malark Sordheim has taken a wife, to the surprise of many - it may be argued to the surprise of all. The ceremony is rumored to have been a terribly secretive affair, with only the priest to bear witness and officiate, though some are crying for a more public assemblage to be had - likely just to have an excuse for a party, really. Such colorful affairs are a blessed rarity in the bleaker landscape of Blightwatch.

The newfound wife of the Count is perhaps even more of an enigma than he, now that her name has been catapulted back into the eyes of the nobler masses: 'Evirea Velacel,' daughter of the Baron of Goldenwall, previously thought dead and missing for some twenty years. There has yet been discussion of the divisions of land, of what manner of exports or dowries will be afforded in the wake of the wedding - Baron Laneveos himself has been heard calling the wedding a fraud, insisting that this woman is in no way his daughter, and is instead some charlatan capitalizing on an old tragedy. He believes she's duped the Count of Sordheim, and evidently has every intention of proving this fact by paying a visit himself - thus nullifying any claims which may be laid upon the resources of his Barony in Glenumbra.

Whatever the truth may be, the people of Blightwatch are beginning to show signs of excited industry, preparing for the promise of a pending celebration.

Stronghold Under Siege

The skies are red in Wrothgar. Whispers circulate from Orsinium down to Covenant lands about Mor'Grumaar stronghold's southern outpost being completely leveled. While there are varying reports (some claiming to be the work of werewolves, others claiming to be orcs, and some claiming that the werewolves and orcs responsible are one in the same) of who carried out the slaughter, there are facts that almost all of the reports can agree on. The stories all confirm that the attack started at night. Catapults and ballista destroyed the stone and wood walls. The former stronghold and current outpost's tower forge and shrine to Malacath was collapsed. When the attackers breached the walls they toppled the great statue of Malacath and defiled it.

They also confirm that Chieftain Thrusk gro-Bogroth's hearth wife Aza was in the outpost for the winter carrying her pregnacy to term, and a number of hunters, warriors, and craftsmen were sheltering there as well. None of them survived, with some of the more horrifying details too much for some to stomach. The stories can also confirm that Thrusk, his shield-wife Nazulbesh, and a retinue of warriors and hunters all arrived too late. While they were able to cut down some of the attackers that still remained, most are at large. They say the shield-wife and the warriors went after the attackers while Thrusk secluded himself at the foot of the massive statue of the Orcfather in eastern Wrothgar, swearing curses and bloody oaths of vengeance.

Whatever is transpiring in Wrothgar, the wrath of the Grumaari will surely be felt by those who had a hand in this treacherous tragedy.

Slaughter on Sentinel Docks

In the late morning of the 23rd of Morning Star, some dead warriors, two lightly armored privateers, and a lavishly dressed man identified by maritime merchants who frequently made stops in Talatet before the Hoonding's Beacon civil war as Orsuur al-Talatet was found dead underneath the sentinel docks. His family were trusted viziers to the Magnificos and Magnificas of House al-Lhotuln for multiple generations. What he was doing there is still being investigated by the local magistrates, but people speculate that he was in Sentinel to possibly petition the crown about the civil war in Hoonding's Beacon or doing something else related to the war. Local mages guild members reluctantly employed by the investigators noted that a magickal signature was detected near the crime scene, but it was inconclusive since the late vizier died to a poisonous arrow. Citizens of Sentinel are warned to steer clear of the docks during the early morning and evening until the city guard can figure out who was responsible. Was this an opportunistic robbery gone wrong or was it something more? Death happens frequently in the Alik'r and since the vizier was a crown, the forebear magistrates will most likely not follow up on any evidence unless one of their own gets murdered as well.

Developments have arisen of the growing presence of a skooma cartel, rumored to be the Sugary Moons gang from Elsweyr, smuggling their product en masse into the Illiac Bay region. Reports grow throughout Wayrest, Daggerfall, Evermore, and Sentinel of men and women, mostly lower class, succumbing to addiction towards the infamous narcotic. In Daggerfall, rumors also begin to emerge that the Illiac Bay Thieves Guild, for reasons uncertain, seem to now be making moves against the cartel after sneaking into the rented room of a Khajiit mercenary by the name of Jabodan and erasing the debts belonging to a man who was a tenant to one of their allies. Of who the landlord was, no one knows for certain.

Both House Mevento and House Ridgewell have diplomatic relations with the Covenant, but with the two Imperial houses preparing for what is likely armed conflict, that conflict seems to have spilt across borders. Jules Delacroix, the Ridgewell ambassador to the Covenant, has supposedly shared with the Wayrest Guard evidence that House Mevento is planning to target Ridgewell assets in High Rock...including the House Ridgewell Trading Comany's largest warehouse which is located in Wayrest.

After a long standing political fight over the Renoir estate in Glenumbra following the assassination of Corbyn Renoir and the subsequent martyrdom of his mother attempting to kill the alleged man responsible, Lord James Ridgewell, the court of Daggerfall approved the late Lady's will after a rocky 6 months. Patricia Renoir left her families holdings and wealth to the fiance or her late son. In order for the crown to accept the will Donovan Ridgewell had to absolve his oath to the Empire and swear loyalty to the Covenant. He also had to accept the outcome of an impartial investigation that his father was not responsible for the death of his fiance. Donovan took the oath without question but begrudgingly accepted the other terms.

Rumors are swirling that his first act as head of the House was to invite the ambassador of House Mevento down from Wayrest. The diplomat was not seen leaving Renoir land until 3 days later. The gossip is swirling over what must have been discussed. The few servants still working in the estate have sealed their lips.

As the sneaky late winter thaw begins to spread puddles across Glenumbra, a rumor creeps out of the eastern forest that a noblewoman had sought out one among the Beldama Wyrd for what sounded an awful lot like reparations. The lingering question, of course, is whether any would answer knowing the recent history and the carnage that had followed the previous lords of the area.
