Rumors had begun to flow around the taverns of the Rift, of farm animals being torn to shreds, of lone travelers disappearing, and wolf howls coming from the hills around Riften. Apparently it has been a problem for weeks, if not months, but had begun getting worse in recent days. However, most peculiarly, the rumors had begun to die down in the last couple of days due to the problem getting better. No new attacks were recorded, and the wolf howls had stopped completely in the hill areas.

No one is sure what has led to the sudden decline in wolves, but, the local farmers are sleeping and traveling a bit easier. The Nords gave praise to Shor and Kyne, for their good fortunes and protecting them from the danger.

"Ye heard about Jorick?"

"Aye, poor sod. Say there was scarce an unshredded patch on his body."

"Eh, I won't waste no tears. I hunted with 'im once. Only tha once. Cruel bastard t' his quarry, he was."

~

Rumors along Skyrim's southern and western borders hold that disappearances and wild-life attacks within the wilds of those self-same areas have shown a marked increase as of late. Nearly a dozen bodies have been found in the forests south of Falkreath in the last week alone, all brutally mauled, sometimes so badly as to be unrecognisable.

Reachman in the southern portions of the Reach have been noticed recently to have been migrating Northwards, or elsewise further West or East, leaving a rather large strip of the Southern Reach virtually uninhabited to any noticable degree. Any who spend time among the Reach Clans, for whatever Gods-forsaken reason they hold, may hear the tales of entire camps slaughtered overnight, Clans decimated and left to burn.

Necromancy is unequivocally evil.

Rumor in Windhelm is that a dunmer thief was broken out of the barracks. The thief was small time, and awaiting a final sentencing before being moved.

Whispers from a Guard wrote:
"Look, it's a weird situation...we followed a trail to the south and found the thief's body in front of an old empty vault and what looked like the damage of a mage's battle. We think whoever helped him ended up betraying him. All we know about whoever broke him out was that they weren't very discreet about it. They left evidence of the break-in everywhere and we saw some of them, though they wore hoods and masks. It was a mixed group, about six of them, but most of them were male Nords. They sounded pretty young, too. Dunno about the rest of them."

Rumors are circling near Windhelm was that a masked stranger delivered medicine to a clinic near Kynesgrove. The Healers are both spooked about the stranger visitor, but at least relieved that they got the medicine they needed.

A local Healer wrote:
He wore a hood and mask and refused to give his name. All I know is that he sounded young, and I think I saw some red hair under the hood. Said he heard that we were in need of medicine...and grant it, we were. Two children were sick with a horrible case of bone break fever. We needed very expensive spriggan sap medicine, and fast. We tried to hire mercenaries to collect the sap, but they're too expensive for a small clinic like us to hire. Suppose the contract was too small, and the money too little. He just said he'd get the medicine and stormed off. I warned him it'd be too dangerous to get spriggan sap alone, but I think he said he'd find help.

I dunno...if we didn't need the medicine so badly I would've refused such a suspicious character. Kids these days running around with a bunch of cloak and dagger looks. It's silly--nonsense! I won't have it around my clinic. Also....I could've swore I locked the front door too, but I returned the next day and found the medicines on my table with a small note. It just listed the ingredients and a description of the medicine and the process he used to making it.

I don't like it, but, he could've at least let me thank him instead of leaving medicine behind like some sort of thief. There's no reason to be spooky like that. Just a weird kid, I guess. I wish I could've thanked him, but then again I kinda don't. Outcasts like that...you never know with 'em. Sometimes they're okay, but they're not to be trusted. I'd rather he doesn't come back.

Mysterious and surprising news has spread in the streets of Riften. A thief was caught pickpocketing during a prime shopping hours on the weekend. Onlookers described shrieks and a call for the guards before he took off like an arrow towards the docks. A hooded figure pursued and after an eventful pursuit through the lower docks of Riften, she shot him in the leg to stop him and arrested him. The hooded figure turned out to be none other than the hailed Companion, Svana the Fox! She brought in the young red headed thief who only gave the alias "Redd" as his name.

In a sudden twist of events, when Svana turned the thief in for arrest she too was arrested for desertion and the murder of Captain Tolak Hammer-hand. As she snapped and spit cries that there had to be some mistake, the her arrest surely had to be wrongful, both companion and thief were arrested and taken down to the Riften dungeon cells. And there they remain!

Rumor says the petty thief is looking at a month or so in jail with a bounty of 5,000 drakes.
It is still under mysterious investigation for the arrested Companion!

In the damp marshes of Murkmire, reports have come into Lilmoth of a saxhleel village deep into the sanctum and isolation of the inner reaches of the marsh having been destroyed. Two more reports have come in as well from adjacent villages. A total of five saxhleel have have reached the safety of Lilmoth, strangely bypassing various other larger villages and towns along the way in a strange haste. It seems that, from the accounts, a Wamasu has appeared named Godakhtnmet, which, while threatening to only a perceived small area in marsh, does begin to threaten the larger villages.

Driven into an agonizing mad rage, the beast has seemingly lost all sense beyond a frenzied systemic destruction of the surrounding area. Blue lightning and electricity crackles around it, whipping and arcing to various plants and wooden structures, setting fires where ever it goes.

Strangely, before it struck the villages, each reported a wispy purple haze having crept along the village's marshy bottom in advance of it.

A hunting party has been called for, led by a veteran of navigating both the Marsh and its untamed wild inhabitants.

He slid down a long way n' hit a boulder at tha bottom somewheres. Ah heard later that 'sides some broken bones he's okay n' survived.

Nah, aye, mah friend is shaken up bad by it. Me n tha otha guards gon meet up latah n' git him a mead.

Word would travel through the criminal underground-only in Skyrim, and maybe some bordering areas, about a strong guild moving in to Eastern Skyrim.

Outcast in the Riften Sewers wrote:
"He calls himself the King of Crows and he's the Guildmaster of the Black Diamond gang. I think I remember that name from the Imperial City. Figured they died out when the city fell. If you're looking for work you better answer to him. I dunno what it is about that crew, but the way they work together and move is unnatural. I hear they're good at what they do...real good.

He says he's taking over Eastern Skyrim's underground. I laughed at first, but then I saw them and....well...better not oppose those folks. Just keep yer head down if yer not interested in working for him. Think they've already left a few bodies in their wake. I'm....I guess worried for my friends who are fences in this area. If Corvo wants you to fence for him, he won't take no for an answer. And he won't settle for you working for anyone else but him."

(This is the start of a plotline that is open to any thieves in Skyrim that wanna take part. No guild or anything, just some cool cats making rpz. Message me if you'd like to get involved! And definitely message me if you're a fence in the Skyrim area~)

"We got four mercs come back late last night. Sayin' they got caught in the dark south o' Windhelm, escortin' two merchant wagons when they were mugged by thieves. No one was killed or injured, but we don't have much description o' the thieves besides that it was 3 men and a very short woman. possibly a bosmer. Too dark out. Not much we can do fer tha mercs when they shud'nah been out there in tha firs' place. Skyrim is dangerous enuff in tha dark even wittout thieves prowlin'.

Bit o' a spike in organized crime lately, I thinkin'. Thieves cleaned out one of the woodworkers right 'ere in Windhelm last week and tha woodworker disappeared. They left a crow feather behind like some sort o' calling card.

If this keeps up...we might need to hire in some mercs for some extra help. Wit tha war going on tha guards a bit stretched thin. Dunno yet tho, still lookin' into it fer now."
