About Ornim Dek
High up in the Druadach Mountains, there lies a safe haven for wary travelers. The settlement is nestled in an ancient, crumbling ruin located between High Rock and Skyrim, just north of Hammerfell. Time has chipped away at its surface, and now an overgrowth of tangling vines creep through the crevices. The Old Orcish words, "Ornim Dek," roughly translates to, "where orcs gather."
The orcish settlement has been a safe haven from the harsh conditions of the mountains for decades. The orcs that reside within the ruins were once a small nomadic clan of echatere herders out of Wrothgar, but now they raise goats and welcome all who would seek refuge at their camp. (Aside from the roleplayers who come to visit, the orcs that live here ICly and manage the bar are primarily NPCs).
As you enter the ruins, you happen upon a small encampment where travelers may rest before venturing deeper into the ruins. Hidden among the vines is a statue of the Orc-Father, Malacath.
As you venture further, you find yourself descending deeper into the ruins until you reach the orcish settlement. A wagon, recently returned from Orsinium, is being unloaded nearby. You already feel the heat of the bonfire that sits in the center of the camp surrounded by tents.
The Goat Pen
To your right, upon entering the settlement, there is a herd of goats enjoying a fresh bed of hay. They provide the orcs with sustenance during the harsher months when the ruins are blocked by snow and ice, and the orcs are prevented from hunting and fishing.
Food Storage Area
On the far side of the settlement, there is a tent containing their food stores.
The guest tents surround the warm bonfire. Thick pelts line the floors of the tents, and provide a comfortable place to rest.
The orcs keep the bonfire burning at all times in order to keep their settlement warm. The tents are positioned in a way to protect the fire from any harsh gusts of wind.
A large archway leads deeper into the mountain. Here, you will see a relief of the Orc-Father, Malacath. The massive wall of engraved stone helps to prevent the icy winds from blowing in. The tavern surprisingly tends to stay warm with all of the braziers that are spread throughout the room.
The bar is nestled against the back of the Orsinium relief, out of reach from the wind. The shelves are stocked with fruits, vegetables, and salted meat, and sacks of grain lean against the base of the counters. Hunt-Wife's Beef Raddish Stew, Grilled Timber Mammoth Kebabs, and Caramelized Goat Nibbles is always available, as well as imported Betnikh Twice-Spiked Ale and Hunt-Wife's Grog. They usually have Bog-Iron Ale, Black Coffee, Bitter Tea, Markarth Mead, and Mulled Wine available as well.
The Meeting Table
There are a few small tables on one side of the bar, but more notably is the meeting table on the opposite end of the room. It is a long table with orcish-style engravings. A throne sits at either end of the table, and several peaked, wooden chairs are situated along one side of the table. An impressive display of antlers hangs from the chandelier overhead, and several candles are placed throughout the table for ample lighting.
