OriginsAt its beginning, Caldus was simply one of many families eeking out a living in the Jerall Mountains. The family came to prominence during the Akaviri Invasion. When Reman Cyrodiil and his forces arrived in the area, he called on all men and women of fighting age to join him in repelling the invaders. Following a display of exemplary leadership during the Battle of Pale Pass, Amiel Caldus was raised to noble standing. In the intervening years, House Caldus has remained a pillar of strength and influence in the region.
In Character (IC)The current head of house, Surus Plinius Cauldus, inherited the Caldus title and lands upon his father’s death in 2E 570. Already in command of the 14th Legion, Surus put his considerable military and financial resources toward combating both internal and external enemies of the Empire. Considering the Caldus’ estate’s proximity to Eastmarch, followers of Hircine present a continued threat to House Caldus and its tenants, and Surus, like many in his family, has worked closely with the Silver Dawn to eliminate the presence of lycanthropes within the Empire. This obligation has only grown with the weakening of the Silver Dawn itself.
Priorities change, however, and following the Planemeld, which took the life of his wife and son, Surus has made rooting out the cancer of the Daedric cults within Cyrodiil his primary focus. In this endeavor, he has welcomed new clients and allies under the banner of his House, from mercenaries to former legionnaires, like-minded Nobles, and Daedra hunters from all over Tamriel. Though the embracing of non-Imperials and so-called ‘rabble’ has earned him more than a few side-eyes from his fellow Nobles, Surus is, as he has always been, focused on the task at hand. If you are opposed to the Daedra and willing to bring all you have to bear against them, he will count you as a friend.
Out of Character (OOC)House Caldus is an 18+ Heavy Roleplaying Guild based in Cyrodiil and the Gold Coast. We are actively recruiting and are interested in characters with Imperial ties and backgrounds looking primarily to form relations with and within the Noble Houses. Legionnaires, House Guard, allied Nobles, client Houses, and a multitude of other roles are open. As a rule, we don’t limit membership based on race or class - if you can give a legitimate reason why your character would be developing relationships with House Caldus, we’re willing to explore it. Anyone wishing to join House Caldus should contact @Repzik or @puellainferni to discuss things further.
