The cloth which covers Idros’ body has been dyed with various shades of crimson and black; though the latter may actually have come about from his frequent and ash-choked expeditions to Red Mountain. What could once have been described as a simple raiment has been accented with bedecked with plates of chitin and ornamented with sigils belonging to the Great House from which he hails. When embarking on a expedition or simply looking for new things to research, Idros hides his visage behind a heavy mask which is designed in the likeness of his armor. A jagged crown of chitin sprouts from the head, while the affixed scarf and goggles muffle the mer’s expression; the goggles themselves seem to have been made from the compound eyes of some strange creature and ensure that Idros’ gaze is as oppressive and unreadable as possible.
Regardless of the circumstance, Idros is always seen carrying both his staff and an assortment of potions. Like his armor, it is decorated with accents of red, and black. While the shaft is appears to be like any other, the head is a knotted mess of metal and bears a passing likeness of the staves carried by the various tribes of Ashlanders. While his staff hangs from his back, several sapphire elixirs hang about his waste. Tied off at the necks, the corked bottles apparently contain potions meant to regenerate magicka.
Beneath this helmet, Idros’ visage is self-same as his people: ashen skin, piercing red eyes and, more often than not, a deep scowl. His face is of an angular aspect and is marked by sharp cheekbones and pointed chin. While a small beard has been cultivated on the mer’s face, the hair that grows from his head looks as though it has not been cut since his youth. However, these are not his most striking features. Though no blade has left a scar upon his flesh, severe burns mar the mer’s face, chest, abdomen and hands; whether or not these scars were inflicted by a spell or by some sort of accident, Idros’ pride will not permit him to say
Character Personality: By merely looking at the gaudy garb worn by Idros Sedrano, one might ascertain that he is inflated by self-importance, superiority, and general arrogance. It might be said that it appears that Idros wears his entire person on his sleeve. While it is true that the mer has a penchant for such beliefs, they rarely manifest. When in the presence of others he is courteous, receptive to courtesy, and seemingly eager to offer whatever aid he can; whether or not this is merely an act is unclear and might leave some a little uncomfortable. Regardless of the genuineness, Idros strains to offer such pleasantries to outlanders, one and all.
Born to Aernthal and Semal Sedrano, Idros was raised within the bounds of the city of Firewatch. His parents, both wizards of House Telvanni, were meticulous in their rearing of the young mer; even going so far as to ensure that he would be born under the proper sign. It should thusly come as no surprise that Idros lead a strictly regimented life; what he studied, where he trained, when he trained, and who he trained under were all decided upon even before he was brought into this world. During the moments between the strictures of his parents, Idros would gaze out at the great volcano from which Firewatch surely took its name.
While he was on course to become yet another duplicitous member of the Great House Telvanni like his mother and father before him, the path that was chosen for Idros was abruptly altered. Long before the Ebonheart Pact outlawed their activities, many sought out the bloody services of the Morag Tong and such services were to be rendered upon the Aernthal, Semal, and Idros. During a chilled night, assassins set upon the Sedrano household. Though what occurred within was unclear, the outcome was plain for all to see; the home was razed, the servants were slain, and all save Idros were dead.
In the wake of this attack, Idros likely feared for his life and fled Firewatch. Venturing across the Inner Sea, he landed upon the domain of the Warrior-Poet and the great mountain that had captured his imagination as a child. Many years have passed since that dark night and Idros now calls Vvardenfell his home and has quite literally carved out a place for himself upon the island.
